HD-SSW數(shù)顯土壤水勢測試儀可以在田間定位檢測和觀測土壤水勢，從而可進一步獲取土壤水分、導(dǎo)水率等土壤水利性質(zhì)參數(shù)。該儀器利用張力計原理，結(jié)合一個或多個探頭的方法，對傳統(tǒng)技術(shù)進行了改進。 也可以只采購一套儀器，多個探頭。可將探頭長期埋于地下不同的深度和不同的被測地塊，這樣如果想知道某個點位的水勢就可以將儀器接到探頭上即可讀出數(shù)值。
