MIPI M-PHY standard is the pillar of next generation computing design. Compared with the past, the architectures of these designs are faster and more complex, so they are gradually replacing desktop computers in many applications.
designers add several high-speed buses to the design to manage multiple high-resolution cameras, high-speed peripherals, advanced graphics adapters and large storage buffers. This raises a growing demand for bandwidth, which further promotes the expansion of the M-PHY specification, including the 4-channel 6.0-Gbs option. U4431A provides up to 16 GB of analytical memory per channel, enabling designers to capture system traffic for tens of seconds even at high speeds.
In addition, Keysight U4431A provides a "primitive mode" to enable designers to view time-related 8b/10b data. This data is the basis of each protocol. These states can be displayed as waveforms or lists to help designers analyze how to compose data packets on the protocol layer.
This analysis capability covers the entire M-PHY protocol stack, allowing you to detect errors from the physical layer to the link layer, from the transport layer to the higher application layer. Through these views, engineers can parse the data throughout the data transmission process.
